MUSTANG, Oct 29: Nepali security personnel today released four Tibetans who were handed over to them by Chinese security personnel a week back.

The Chinese security personnel had arrested them from Korala Check Point in Mustang while they were trespassing into Chinese territory.

"The Tibetans outside Tibet can no longer visit Tibet without proper documentation of late," said Arjun Shrestha, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Mustang.

"The arrested Tibetans admitted to have come from Uttarakhand in India and Bouddha in Kathmandu and were going to Tibet to see their relatives," said DSP Shrestha.

They are now released to the Refugee camp in Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang, police said.

The Chinese security personnel in the Korala Check Point have beefed up security in view of preventing untoward activities in the Chinese territory by Tibetans entering China land illegally. RSS
