A meeting of the parties held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday decided not to postpone statute making in the pretext of talks with agitating parties/groups.
UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the meet decided to take constitution drafting and talks side by side.
The meeting also concluded that is no justification for talks with preconditions. However, the meeting agreed to call agitating Madheshi Front and Tharuhat Struggle Committee for talks again.
The agitating Madhesi Front on Saturday responded to Prime Minister's call for talks, setting four conditions.
In order to sit for the talks, the Front has the conditions with the government that it immediately postponed constitution writing process, implemented the past agreements made with the Madhesi political parties, including the past 22-point and 8-point agreements, recalls Nepal Army mobilized in different parts of the country and declare martyrs to those killed in the recent protests in Tarai/Madhes.
Likewise, in response to the government's calls for the talks, the Committee has put forth a seven-point condition before sitting for the dialogue table. Release of agitators arrested in course of the agitation from different parts of the country and withdrawal of lawsuit filed against them are other conditions set by the Committee.
