Four new Eons enter Nepal

KATHMANDU, March 10: Four models of Hyundai Eon -- Eon Dlite, Eon Dlite Plus, Eon Era Plus and Eon Sportz -- have rolled into the Nepali market. Laxmi Intercontinental, the authorized distributor, said the new models that come with 814 cc petrol engine have a price range of Rs 1.39 million to Rs 1.85 million.



Eon Dlite is the cheapest among the four models and is priced at Rs 1.39 million, while Dlite Plus costs Rs 1.52 million. [break]



Likewise, Eon Era Plus is priced at Rs 1.62 million, while Eon Sportz has a price tag of Rs 1.85 million. The prices are inclusive of taxes and tagged for full options.

The company has even offered 1 year free insurance for the customers. It is available in six colors.



Eon is built on a completely new platform made especially for the South Asian market, said Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of Laxmi Group, launching the four models of Eon on Friday.







"We are hopeful that the Eon will further expand our market share in the fast-growing small car segment in Nepal," he added.



The entry level car from Hyundai is a full-fledged package that blends style, comfort, utility and economy. Its 0.8 liter iRDE engine delivers 56PS at the rate of 5500rpm of maximum power and 7.65Kgm at the rate of 4000rpm of peak torque. The 814cc petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and gives a mileage of 21.1kmpl, reads a statement.



The fluidic design of Eon, which ensures adequate occupant space, style and premium interiors, is an outcome of joint efforts of Hyundai´s design and development center at Namyang in Korea and its Hyderabad based Research and Development (R&D).



Along with spacious cabin, Eon comes with multiple storage spaces and has multiple bottle and cup holders, a spacious glove box and practically designed dashboard for storing small utility items. The car possesses features specially developed for buyers of low compact segment.



Centrally positioned AC vents with rotary type knobs, front power windows, internally adjustable mirrors, tilt steering, keyless entry, remote fuel and tail gate opening, central locking, front door full armrest, front room lamp, rear seatbelt knuckle holder, rear speaker grill and rear parcel tray, a 2-DIN integrated type audio, Alternator Management System (AMS) are other features of the car.
