CHITWAN, Aug 16: At least four people, including a driver, were killed in a jeep (Na 1 Ja 1317) accident at Daunne of Nawalparasi district on Tuesday afternoon.
As many as 10 other passengers in the jeep were injured in the mishap, according to District Police Office (DPO), Nawalparasi.
An Indian national is among the deceased in the incident, according to police.
The deceased are jeep driver Sudhakhar Pandey, 28, of Sukrauli, Nawalparasi; Indian national Chintu Sahani, 27, of Dharampur, India; and Chanmati Tharu, 25, and Chet Kumari Tharu, 20, of Sarawal, Nawalparasi.
The mishap happened after the jeep overturned along the East-West Highway at around 3 pm due to brake failure, the police said.
The dead bodies have been sent to Prithvi Chandra Hospital, Parasi for postmortem, police said, adding that the treatment of all the injured is undergoing at Bhairahawa Medical College.
