Among those killed were 57-year-old driver Sher Bahadur KC of Arjunchaupari-7, 15-year-old Lekesh Gurung of Arjunchaupari-7, 10-year-old Sanjay KC of Arjunchaupari-9 and Dil Shobha Gurung of Arjunchaupari-8.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Uttam Subedi, while two died on the spot, the body of Sanjay was found hanging from a cliff Wednesday morning and Dil Shobha died while receiving treatment at Gandaki Zonal Hospital, Pokhara.
Among the injured, six are being treated at Gandaki Zonal Hospital, while the rest are being treated in Syangja.
The mini-truck carrying cargo and passengers to Arjunchaupari bazaar was climbing a slope when its brakes failed, said Police Inspector Manoj Pandey.
The accident site is 20 kilometers from district headquarters.
