Nabin Bhujel, 25, of Dhangadhi municipality-3, Narad Bohara, 35, of Dhangadhi municipality-2, Aakash Poudel, 16, of Dhangadhi municipality-1 and Rupesh Chaudhary, of Dhangadhi municipality-3, fled from District Police Office, Kailali. [break]
While Bhujel and Bohara are charged with murder and women trafficking respectively, Poudel and Chaudhary were arrested on the charge of theft. They fled custody just days before their trail at the district court of Kailali.
They had made a small hole in a decaying wall when other detainees were asleep. Police inspector Sudam Rawal said that the four fled custody between 3 am and 4 am. “They were there until 3 am,” said Rawal. “But, they were not there when the guards checked them at 4 am.”
According to Rawal, the building where the detainees were kept in was built nearly 30 years ago. “The wall had already started crumbling,” said he. “This made it easy for them to dig the hole.”

The room from where the four escaped was overcrowded with 25 people. The four escaped without letting others know about their plan. “We knew that they fled only in the morning,” said one of the detainees.
SP Ghanshyam Aryal, chief of the Kailali police, said they have deployed various police teams to search for the four.
Meanwhile, the Far-western Regional Police Office has formed a three-member committee to probe the incident. The committee headed by police SSP Chhabilal Joshi has Gyan Bahadur Shetty and Ram Bahadur Dhami as members.
