KHOTANG, April 10: Four houses were reduced to cinders when a fire broke out in Ratamate of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-5 on Monday.
The fire destroyed the houses and property of locals Padamraj Rai, Akilraj Rai, Agamraj Rai and Gamraj Rai.
According to Police inspector Chandra Bhusan Yadav, the fire started from the house of Padamraj and spread to three more neighboring houses.
With all their property burnt in the fire, those displaced by the fire have been wondering
how they will manage their life further.
According to the police, the fire gutted properties worth Rs. 2.4 million of Padamraj, Rs. 2.5 million of Akilraj, Rs. 2.4 million of Agamraj and Rs. 2.2 million of Gamraj.
The victims also lost their cattle as the fire also engulfed their sheds.
The fire was doused by the Area Police Office, Halesi, army personnel from Shergan Barracks along with locals.
The victims have been provided tents, rice, vegetables and beaten rice as an immediate relief, according to Anil Kirati, Administrative Officer of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality. The relief was offered by Nepal Red Cross Society.
