Four differently able people begin SAARC peace tour

KATHMANDU, May 22: Four differently able people of Nepal have set out on a peace tour of countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) wishing for lasting peace in the country.



The four differently able youths who have been living at Shanti Sewa Griha at Gaushala began their tour of the SAARC countries on May 21.



Those leaving for the tour are Tej Bahadur Karki, Santosh Yadav, Durga Thapa and Lata Koirala.



Three of the participants of the tour will travel by wheelchair and they will be accompanied by assistants.



Speaking in a press conference, the four differently able people said they are undertaking the tour of the SAARC countries wishing for lasting peace in Nepal and also to boost up the morale of the differently able people.



The duration of the tour is 45 months. They are starting their tour with Rs. 10,000 to begin with and they would be asking for donations with people and organizations in course of the tour in different countries.



Tej Bahadur Karki is the president of the tour. They are to travel up to Pashupatinagar in Ilam district by bus and begin their tour from there.
