Former UML lawmaker Pathak discusses impact of climate change in London

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Former member of parliament and CPN-UML leader Dr Surya Prasad Pathak, who is on a visit to the UK, has discussed the impact of climate change on Nepal in London.

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Former member of parliament and CPN-UML leader Dr Surya Prasad Pathak, who is on a visit to the UK, has discussed the impact of climate change on Nepal in London.


In a meeting with ruling party Labor MP Barry Gardiner on Thursday, Dr Pathak said that climate change has appeared as the main problem of the world as it has also affected Nepal.

Dr Pathak said that climate change has affected most of the areas including human life, environmental, social, economic, and physical aspects.


He said that the current government is working on economic reforms and climate change to ensure the prosperity of the country.


Similarly, he emphasized the need for everyone to work together to address the global impact of climate change.


Pathak said that the government is working to further institutionalize Nepal's democracy and political stability. He also thanked for the support provided by London in the economic and social sector of Nepal.


Discussing the historical relationship between Nepal and the UK, MP Gardiner, expressed his desire for economic progress in Nepal. Additionally, he showed interest in the geopolitical situation of Nepal which is located between China and India.
