KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Babu Ram Shrestha, a former chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon), passed away on Saturday. He was 67.
Shrestha was appointed as Sebon’s chairman on October 17, 2011 and he led the regulatory body of Nepal’s securities market for the next four years. He was attributed for starting paperless transactions of securities in the country’s stock exchange market, reads a press statement issued by Sebon.
