Former PMs extend wishes on Vijaya Dashami

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: Former Prime Ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba and KP Sharma Oli have all extended hearty best wishes to all the Nepali citizens on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami festival 2073 BS. 

In a message on the occasion today, former PM and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stated that the Dashain festival, which glorifies victory of good over evil, is being celebrated by the Nepali society every year as an occasion fostering family love, social goodwill, mutual cooperation and unity. 

Stating that Nepal is a country comprising various castes, ethnicities, multiple languages and cultures, former PM Deuba argued that festival like Bijaya Dashami has helped further consolidated the mutual unity and communal amity. 

Furthermore, noting that the country has arrived at a critical juncture of its history, Deuba mentioned that the NC was effortful towards enforcing the new constitution and institutionalizing the political achievements secured through various democratic movements. 

He has called for unity and cooperation among one and all to address the national current issues in a peaceful manner. 

Similarly, former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has wished happy Bijaya Dashami to all Nepalis within the country and abroad. 

In a message on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami today, former PM Oli has wished that may the Bijaya Dashami festival encourage all the political forces in the country for the effective implementation of the new constitution within the stipulated time. 

Oli has also urged for national unity and goodwill among all the Nepalis for the greater good of the country that, he added, is multi-linguistic, multi-cultural and multi-religion. 

Chairman Oil is to offer Dashain tika to his fellow leaders, party's cadres and well wishers from 12:00-3:00 pm today at his residence at Balkot, Bhaktapur, according to Oli's Press Advisor Pramod Dahal. RSS
