Former Home Minister Khand refutes his involvement in fake Bhutanese refugee scam

KATHMANDU, May 6: Former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has issued a statement refuting his involvement in fake Bhutanese refugees scam.

KATHMANDU, May 6: Former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has issued a statement refuting his involvement in fake Bhutanese refugees scam.


In the statement, Khand said that his attention was drawn by false news being spread against him.

Khand, who is also the leader of the Nepali Congress, asked the media not to broadcast news which assassinates his personal character.


While issuing a statement, Khand stated, “I request the media not to publish news which is baseless, non-factual and the incident I am not involved," he said, adding that this can create confusion among people and assassinate his personal character.


Khand did not make the reference of fake refugees directly in the statement. However, he indirectly refuted the news that came in the media about his involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
