Former Belgian international player appointed Nepal coach

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Former Belgian international player Patrick Aussems has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national football team.



This is the first time that the 50 year old has been entrusted with responsibility of national team. Aussems arrived in Kathmandu from his adopted home country France on Thursday.

Before taking over coaching job in Nepal, he was the coach of AC Leopard, a football club based in Congo. The former defender of the Belgium national team, Aussems had started his coaching career since 1992.


He was welcomed by ANFA officials at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato, on Thursday. ANFA will furnish the details about Aussems on Friday.


Nepal is currently preparing for SAFF Championship scheduled for December 23 to January 2 in Kerala.
