KATHMANDU, April 27: Nagarik Nayak Nanda Devi Kunwar was honored by the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
The Nagarik Nayak -2082 award was presented to forest conservation activist Kunwar by Nepal Republic Media (NRM) on Saturday.

On Sunday, Forest Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi honored Kunwar at the ministry, draping her with a shawl.
Minister Shahi, acknowledging Kunwar's significant contributions to forest conservation, expressed the ministry's commitment to future collaboration. The award was presented to Kunwar by President Ram Chandra Paudel through NRM. Minister Shahi urged Kunwar to remain actively involved in forest conservation efforts.
Kunwar said, “There is no greater moment of happiness for me than this.” She expressed that the Nagarik Nayak award and the recognition from the ministry were deeply meaningful to her. The ceremony was attended by Forest Ministry Secretary Rajendra Mishra, NRM’s Managing Director Samriddhi Gyawali, along with other distinguished individuals.
