FNNTE demands withdrawal of petroleum price hike

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has demanded the government withdraw the recent hike in the price of petroleum products.

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has demanded the government withdraw the recent hike in the price of petroleum products. 


Issuing a press statement on Monday, FNNTE Chairperson Yogendra Nath Karmacharya asked the government to immediately withdraw the price hike of petroleum products made in current fiscal year till now, adding that entrepreneurs have not been able to pay interest and installment of loans taken from the banks and financial institutions following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is unfortunate to increase the price of petroleum products by Nepal Oil Corporation time and again directly affecting the transport entrepreneurs and general consumers. The price hike should be withdrawn immediately”, reads the statement.  


The federation has warned the government of launching protests if the price hike of petroleum products is not withdrawn.
