FNJ to protest new info classification

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has announced nationwide protest demanding that the government immediately revoke its recent decision to increase the number of classified information to 140.



A meeting of the FNJ office bearers on Monday decided to launch protest against the government decision. [break]



As decided by Monday´s meeting, FNJ will stage protest with black banners at Babarmahal at 3 pm Tuesday and stage demonstration in front of all District Administration Offices (DAOs) outside Kathmandu Valley either on February 1 or 2.



Issuing a press statement, the FNJ has appealed to all media professionals, civil society representatives and human rights activists to actively participate in the protests.
