FNJ convention in May

JANAKPUR, Jan 2: The National Convention of Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) had decided to hold its national convention in Kathmandu on May 3, 2011.



The FNJ Central Committee meeting held in Janakpur and Jaleswor has also decided the dates for the region-wise district-level conventions. They will be held prior to the national convention starting from February 10.[break]



A three-member election committee has been constituted under the convenorship of Hasta Gurung to hold the elections. Advocates Ramesh Baral and Dinmani Pokhare are its members.



The FNJ has also decided to establish a national journalism prize under the name of its Founding President, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai. A fund of Rs. 100,000 has been established for the prize that would be awarded from this year.



A decision was also taken to enforce the journalist welfare plan and accidental insurance plan for the journalists.



On the occasion, FNJ President Dharmendra Jha said the Federation has thought of establishing a media library and a research center.
