According to the Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson, Tara Prasad Pokhrel, the meeting held late last night stressed on establishment of a consultation mechanism for strengthening the existing relations between the two countries.
Similarly, other issues discussed during the meeting were removal of the compulsory visa provision for those carrying government or diplomatic passports, augmentation of assistance on tourism promotion, and cooperation and coordination in the international forums and the UN.
The Spokesperson further said Minister Pandey stressed on launching a direct flight between the two countries for strengthening people-to-people relations and tourism promotion.
Nepal to hold 4th SAARC Cabinet Secretaries' Meeting
Meanwhile, the 4th SAARC cabinet secretaries' meeting is to be held in Nepal next year.
The decision to this was taken by the 3rd SAARC Cabinet Secretaries Meeting held in Islamabad on Sunday, said the Nepali Embassy in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal said Nepal government had given top priority to the good governance and efforts were underway for this.
He underscored the need that the SAARC countries could emulate one's best practice to another in terms of promoting good governance.
The Embassy further said the next meeting would review the status of the implementation of 18th SAARC Summit decisions and strategies. RSS
