The five-day event is being organized to promote floriculture in the western development region. The expo features more than 300 varieties of flower for exhibition and sale. [break]
According to organizers, the price of the flowers range from Rs 10 to Rs 20,000.
Inaugurating the ceremony, Yogendra Kumar Karki, joint-secretary of the agriculture ministry, said total transaction of flowers in Nepal is around Rs 1 billion. "Floriculture is also providing employment opportunities for many," he added.

Daya Kumar Dwa, president of the association, said the main objective of the event is to promote floriculture. "Many people are not taking this profession seriously. Events like this will give floriculture entrepreneurs the much needed platform to market their products and share experiences," he added.
The expo features 25 exhibitors. The organizers are expecting around 20,000 visitors.
