KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The floods triggered by the incessant rainfall for the past two days have claimed 9 lives in Lalitpur alone, at as many places. At least 11 people are missing.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Lalitpur District Police Range, Narahari Adhikari informed Republica that nine dead bodies were recovered while 11 people are still missing, as per the updates provided by the police till 11:45 AM.
Darchula flood update: Five confirmed dead, six missing
DSP Adhikari stated that 281 people have been rescued. Among them, 77 people were rescued from the Sanepa area, 30 from Nakhu Harmony Colony, 15 from Nakkhipot, 75 from Bungamati, 55 from Chapagaun, 28 from Imadol, and 1 from the UN Park area.
He further said that 1100 police personnel have been deployed.
