Flights and landing halted in eastern airports due to heavy fog

Passengers are facing difficulties as the flight could not depart on time. Meanwhile, the Kathmandu airport is overwhelmed with passengers.

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Heavy fog has brought the flights to halt at most airports in the eastern region on Tuesday. Airplanes could neither take off or land at most airports until around 12 noon.


According to the Tribhuvan International Airport  (TIA) office, flights and landings could not take place at Janakpur, Simara, Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Chandragadhi, Rajbiraj and other airports on Tuesday morning.

According to the TIA, flights have just taken off from Chandragadhi, Rajbiraj, and Simara airports, while flights have not yet been able to take off from Janakpur and Biratnagar.
