We all know we have to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water every day. But not all of us actually manage that. The reason is that drinking water can be boring and it’s not often till we are dehydrated and craving for a drink that we reach for a bottle of water or, often times its unhealthier alternative, soda. But what if we told you that you will not only be able to drink enough water but enjoy it as well if you just add some fruits and herbs in it. Infused water can be a great way to make plain water taste better and, while you are at it, you will also be getting some much required vitamins and minerals. Here are some simple detox water recipes for you to try.

Strawberry lemonade

The ingredients you will need to prepare this drink are water, a lemon, a few fresh mint leaves, and five strawberries. Begin with slicing the lemon into very thin circular pieces. Remove all seeds from the pulp. Next, chop the strawberries into quarters and place it aside. Then, in a large mug, pack the chopped strawberries at the bottom. Top it with the bright yellow slices of lemon followed by fresh mint leaves. Add water to the mug and let it rest for an hour or more until the flavors get extracted. The sweetness of the strawberries will nicely balance the tartness of lemons and the mint will round it out perfectly. You may refill the container a few times before the fruits start losing their flavors.

Orange, carrot and ginger juice

Oranges are the powerhouse of Vitamin A and C, whereas carrots are loaded with beta-carotene and fibers. Similarly, ginger is an age-old remedy for improving digestion. The combination of these three things will not just help you reduce weight but it will also boost your immune system and cut down bad cholesterol from the body. To prepare this concoction, simply chop these items and blend it in a mixer. Then use a strainer to separate the juice. Pour it into a tall glass, stir, and sip.
