As always, the holidays have wrecked havoc in your diet plans. You have gone so off tangent in your fitness journey that you don’t know where to start. Look no further. Detox drinks are an amazing and natural way to cleanse your system by wiping out toxins, and boosting energy and digestion while kick starting your weight loss journey.


There are some basic detox drinks that are pretty easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients easily available in your kitchen, you can make and enjoy an array of these detoxifying drinks that come with a horde of other benefits – from ridding you of that bloated post festival feeling to making your skin glow. 


Here, The Week has compiled some detox water and tea recipes that, we think, are effortless to prepare. With ingredients such as watermelon, lime, mint, cinnamon, and apple, these detox drinks will give also give you a much-needed post holiday boost of all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants.


Watermelon detox water


Ingredients:


Half a watermelon


1 lime


A handful of mint


Methodology: 


Cut a watermelon into cubes and put them in a pitcher or a jug. Cut one lime into wedges and toss it along with the melon cubes. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves and then add water to it. Refrigerate overnight, or add ice cubes and enjoy!


Note: You can also use cucumber slices instead of watermelon for a change of flavor.

Green tea citrus drink


Ingredients:


Green tea


Half a lemon


1 banana 



Methodology:


First make a cup of green tea the regular way. Then let it cool down. Squeeze half a lemon in it. Blend in a whole banana. Enjoy it chilled. 


Apple-Cinnamon detox water


Ingredients: 


One small apple


Lemon juice – 2 tbsp 


Apple cider vinegar – 2 tbsp 


Cinnamon – 1 tsp 


Methodology:


Slice the apple and put it in a jar. Add lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and cinnamon to it. Mix it well and then top it with water. Refrigerate for 15 minutes and the drink is ready to be served. 


The colorful detox drink


Ingredients:


1 bell pepper


3 carrots with top


1 medium cucumber


Half a lemon


1 apple



Methodology:


Blend in all the ingredients. Chill as desired. Enjoy the visual impact of this brightly colored drink before savoring its taste.


Detox Tea


For detox tea, you can choose from a variety of ingredients such as ginger, dandelion, lemon, mint and green tea. Seep any of these in boiling water for about 4-6 minutes, then drain. Add raw honey for flavor as well as to increase its detoxifying properties.
