According to family sources, an unidentified group had kidnapped Ashraf at around 9 am on Saturday morning.
“We informed police on Saturday evening about the missing of Asraf after we failed to find missing Ashraf despite searching all over the village but he was killed on same night,” said Soman Rayan, Ashraf's uncle.

According to District Police Chief, SP Ram Dutta Joshi, an initial investigation has revealed that Ashraf was murdered as there was bleeding from his nose and eye.
The body of Asraf has been kept at Janakpur Regional Hospital for postmortem
