Five policemen injured as locals demand release of Indian kidnapper

PARSA, May 7: Five police personnel were injured after a clash erupted between relatives of four Indian nationals and the area police office of Seduwa at Jira Bhawani rural municipality of Parsa.

Four Indian nationals from Sisiwa, Bajrangi Gaura, Ram Prawesh Gaura, Bisnu Bhar Gaura and Din Dalyal Mahato were arrested by Nepal Police for their attempts to abduct Nepali police personnel. Relatives had torched a motorcycle, Ba 2 Ba 5705 and damaged another, Na14 Pa 4577 and a vehicle.

To control the situation, police fired 23 rounds of shots on air, according to Rajan Limbu, DSP at District Police Office, Parsa said. Additional police have been deployed in the area, according to District Police Office, Parsa. 

Those injured include sub inspector Rajesh Chaudhary, assistant sub inspector Gopal Khadka and Sukeshwor Mahato, constable Alok Baitha and Jay Prakash Yadav.

The Indian nationals were returning to India after consuming alcohol in Nepal. However, they were stopped by the police for checking where they scolded the police and abducted constable Bir Bahadur Gurung from Buluwa post that borders India.  

The Indian Border Security Force had arrested the nationals and handed them over to Nepal Police.  Following the arrest, relatives had circled the area police office.
