Five people injured in fire incident undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Hospital

KATHMANDU, June 6: Five people who were injured after a person sprinkled petrol and set them on fire in Saraswati Nagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7 are undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.

KATHMANDU, June 6: Five people who were injured after a person sprinkled petrol and set them on fire in Saraswati Nagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7 are undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital. 


Spokesperson at District Police Range Kathmandu, SP Nabraj Adhikari, said that 55-year-old Chanchal Bahadur Singh set fire to a room of his house by sprinkling petrol last night. Singh was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when he carried out the act.

Five people who were injured in the incident are undergoing treatment in Burn Hospital Kirtipur.


According to police, the injured are 55-year-old Singh, his 44-year-old wife Bindu Singh, 24-year-old daughter Supriya Singh, 16-year-old daughter Samriddhi Singh and eight-year-old daughter Suhani Singh. Singh resorted to the act after a quarrel with his wife. 


Further investigation into the incident is currently underway, police said.
