KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested five individuals involved in the illegal possession and sale of leopard skin, a protected wild animal. The arrests were made public on Monday.
The suspects taken into custody have been identified as 39-year-old Laxman Bishwakarma from Bhojpur, 20-year-old Binod Kalikote, 34-year-old Dal Bahadur Ale Magar, 28-year-old Umesh Dudharaj from Dhading Galchi, and 20-year-old Prem Bahadur BK.
Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari, the spokesperson for the Bureau, disclosed that the arrests were made in Bodhigram tol, Lalitpur, where the individuals were apprehended while involved in the smuggling of leopard skins.
All five detainees have been transferred to the Division Forest Office in Hattiban for further investigation and necessary legal action.
