First meeting of newly-elected Central Working Committee to be held today

KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The first meeting of the Central Working Committee elected from the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress is being held today. As per the agenda, 'certificates' will be distributed to the elected office bearers and members in the meeting to be held at the party's central office in Sanepa from 11 AM, according to Krishna Prasad Poudel, chief secretary of the party's central office. 

A total of 134 office bearers and members of the Central Working Committee have been elected from the election held under the 14th General Convention held in Kathmandu earlier this month.

In the meeting, Prime Minister and party president Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to thank everyone for the success of the convention and share the decision to register the party with the Election Commission for the upcoming elections. 

It is said that the NC will file an application for party registration for the election of National Assembly members at the Election Commission (EC) today following the decision of the CWC meeting. Earlier, the EC had set a deadline of December 25 for the party registration.
