Finance ministry releases Rs 1 billion to Disaster Relief Fund

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced a contribution of Rs 1 billion to the Disaster Relief Fund.

The ministry’s move follows huge damage to lives and property by floods and landslides in late September. The Cabinet had decided to deposit the amount from the MoF into the Disaster Relief Fund.


The MoF said that the amount collected in the Fund will be spent as per the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, 2074 BS.
