ILLAM, April 9: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Ilam, has published the final list of candidates for the by-elections to be held in Ilam-2.
The office has announced that Keshab Kumar Chapagai of Ilam Municipality-11, an independent candidate, has withdrawn his candidacy.
EC publishes voters list for presidential election
The Chief Electoral Officer published the final list of the remaining 19 candidates out of the 20 candidates who have registered their nominations.
Although there was time to file a complaint against the candidate until Sunday, the Chief Electoral Officer has informed that no complaint was received. On Monday, the office scrutinized the nominations and published the list of all the nominees.
Among the candidates listed are Dambar Bahadur Khadka from the Nepali Congress, Suhang Nembang from the UML, Milan Kumar Yonghang Limbu from the RSP, and Dakendra Singh Limbu (Thegim) from Pahichan Pakchyadhar (identity supporters). Additionally, Jit Bahadur Rai from the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party and Laxmi Gurung from the RPP are also among those who have registered their nominations.
Other candidates featured in the final list include Ganesh Bahadur Chauhan from RPP Nepal, Prem Kumar Thamsuhang from the Janamat Party, Mani Bahadur Limbu from the Mongol National Organization, Dhanraj Rana Magar from the National Republic Nepal Party, Shyam Kumar Darji from the Nepal Workers Peasants Party (NWPP), Resham Bahadur Sunar from the Nepali Janata Dal, and Jayawanta Bikram Shah from Rastriya Mukti Andolan Nepal.
Furthermore, independent candidates Dak Prasad Gautam, Dipesh Bohora, Arjun Bahadur Sahi, Manoj Niraula, Yogendra Gurung, and Raj Basyal are also listed in the final list of candidates.
