Kathmandu will now be able to witness an hour-long dance show, ‘Tres Flamencas’, on November 8 and 9 at the Russian Culture Center, Kamal-Pokhari.[break]
Produced by flamenco dancer Maradee Guzman, who can be credited for introducing this dance form to the local and the expatriate community here in Kathmandu, Tres Flamencas will feature a wide range of Spanish dance styles which will be performed by Flamenco performer, choreographer, director, producer and teacher Clara Ramona and her company dancers Mercedes Soler and Maradee herself. Spanish classical guitarist Prashant Pokharel will also be a part of the show along with Maradee’s students from Nepal who will be performing their dance recitals.

Maradee and Mercedes have toured with Clara around the world but it is after two years that they are performing together again.
“Clara has trained us so well that we can easily pick up from where we left. Even though we haven’t performed together for a long time, the cohesiveness of our performances is not lost,” says Maradee who shares that the interest she saw in Nepal is what keeps bringing her back with a vision to take Flamenco dancing to higher levels in Nepal.
“It’s a huge privilege to have Clara in Nepal, despite her busy schedule. She just came back from a workshop and performance in Beijing and is here in Nepal for a week,” shares Maradee.
