KATHMANDU, June 28: Lawmakers have stressed that the incomplete national projects should be completed by the central government and handed to the local government.
Lawmaker Khaga Raj Adhikari put forth a proposal that the incomplete national projects should be completed by the central govrnment in a federal parliament meeing in New Baneshwar on Wednesday.
Expressing his views over the proposal Nepal Communist Party lawmaker Bishal Bhattarai said that contractors and consumers committees should be grilled and brought under the purview of the law and complete the national projects at the earliest to materialize the goal of ‘Prosperious Nepal and Happy Nepali’ set by the government.
Echoicing to Bhattarai’s views, NCP Lawmaker Ghana Shyam Khatiwada and Yagya Raj Sunuwar said the national projects initiated by the previous governmets should be completed by the federal government and handed over to the lcoal government.
Unlike the views shared by the previous lawmakers, Lawmaker Bhawani Khapung said that the local governments shuld be assinged to complete the remaining works of the national projects arguing that we adopted the fully decentralized system in the form of federalism assuming that the development is not possible through the centralized political system.
