Home Minister vows to arrest culprits involved in Nirmala Panta's rape and murder


Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa vowed to arrest culprits involved in Nirmala Panta's rape and murder as he responded to questions of lawmakers at the parliament.  Thapa claimed that 96% of culprits were brought to book by the police in recent years.

Procurement without bidding process- OAG report


While it is mandatory for public offices to invite bidding in public procurement, this hasn't been the case in districts, according to the 2018/19 report by the Office of Auditor General. Some government agencies and local governments were found to have procured goods and services without soliciting bids -- thereby creating ample spaces for fiduciary malaises.


Bid for amplifying employment opportunities gathers pace


The government has planned to create more jobs inside the country and drastically reduce foreign employment in the next five years. The government plans to do so through the 'Prime Minister Employment Programme'. 


Former Costa Rican President Oscar Arias accused of sexual assault


Former President Oscar Arias, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, was accused of sexual assault by a nuclear disarmament activist. Arias denied the allegation, saying he has never acted against the will of any woman and has fought for gender equality during his career.  The woman said that Arias grabbed her from behind, touched her breasts, began to kiss her and penetrated her with his fingers, while she reminded him that he was a married man.


Barcelona waiting 'until the last moment' on Lionel Messi fitness for El Clasico


Barcelona is waiting on a late fitness test to see if Lionel Messi will be fit to feature in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash with Real Madrid. Barca has named Messi in their 19-man squad for the semi-final first leg at the Camp Nou, but he missed training on Monday after suffering a thigh injury on Saturday.
