GAIGHAT, Oct 27: District Court, Udayapur has sentenced a man to 22 years in jail along with a fine of Rs 50,000 on the charge of raping his own daughter.
A single bench of judge Rajkumar Koirala of District Court, Udayapur heard the case slapping the rapist with a jail-term of 22 years and a fine of Rs 50,000 for raping his 13-year-old daughter, said Rit Bahadur Magar, a registrar of the District Court, Udayapur.
Father accused of raping 14 year daughter
Similarly, the court also sentenced victim’s maternal uncle and cousin to 11 and eight years in jail respectively along with a fine of Rs 8,000 each for raping her.
The victim's father had been raping her since last six months after her mother left for abroad for foreign job.
After being raped by her own father, the victim took shelter in her maternal uncle’s house in hopes of safety. To her misfortune, she did not remain safe there, too. Her uncle raped her repeatedly, even there. She, then, went to her cousin’s house in the village seeking protection – but only to be raped.
A complaint had been field at the police station after the victim told the harrowing tale to her friend.
The rapists were brought to book six months after the case was filed in the court.
