Farmer electrocuted in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ, June 24: A farmer died due to electrocution at Manraja VDC-4 in Saptari district on Sunday.



He is 50-year-old Bal Kumar Yadav of Manraja VDC-5. The incident took place when Yadav tried to remove an electric cable brought there by one Nandilal Chaudhari for the purpose of operating pump set for irrigating the fields, police said.[break]



Meanwhile, 45-year-old Lalu Saha of Bisahariya VDC-6, Saptari has been injured after he received electric shock while trying to repair an electric cable at local Pharseth on Sunday morning. Saha is an employee of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). He is admitted to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in serious condition, according to police.
