KANCHANPUR, Feb 6: Students have padlocked the Far-Western University protesting what they termed as a 'unilateral decision' taken in appointment of officials.

The Netra Bikram Chand led CPN Maoist aligned All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) forced the shutdown of the varsity on Friday.

The University was padlocked to protest the appointment of dean, registrar and controller of examinations which was made on basis of power sharing deals among major political parties – Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and UCPN (Maoist) – without any consultations with the professors' association and student unions, said Revolutionary's central member Birendra Shah.
