Far-West security chiefs called back

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on Tuesday has replaced security heads of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) at the Far-Western region.

According to security sources, they were replaced for failing to direct security agencies promptly.

DIG Madhav Nepal has been sent to Far-Western Regional Police Office replacing DIG Ram Kumar Khanal. Khanal has been called back at Police Headquarters.

Likewise, DIG Khadananda Chaudhary, head of Armed Police Force Baidhyanath Bahini, has been replaced with DIG Suraj Shrestha.

Similarly, MoHA has sent SSP Dinesh Amatya at the Rapti Zonal Police office replacing late SSP Laxman Neupane, who was killed in Tuesday's fatal clash with Tharu demonstrators at Tikapur, Kailali.
