The three were traveling from Hetauda to Pathlaiya when the bus operated by Makalu Yatayat traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu hit the motorcycle near a bridge at Amlekhgunj-8.[break]
Saroj Adhikari, 27, Bharati, 23 and their two-and-a-half-year-old son died in the accident, according to sub-inspector Arun Kumar Kuswaha of Amlekhgunj police post.
The three were traveling to Bharati´s ancestral house in Chandranigahapur to celebrate the Teej festival, her elder brother told police.
Saroj died on the spot, while Bharati and the boy died while being taken to Birgunj for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the over-speeding bus breached its lane and hit the motorcycle. The bus driver and help fled after the accident.
On Monday, a truck accident in the same area had resulted in two deaths.
