'Faces of Budda' art expo begins

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: An art exhibition titled "Faces of Buddha" by Sandhya Regmi kicked off at Nepal Art Council gallery at Babarmahal on Saturday. The exhibition, a collection of 32 paintings, will run until August 24.



Inaugurating the event, Chairman of Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi said artist´s works have focused on religious and spiritual heritages of Buddha and expressed his hope that they would help minimize social misconducts.[break]



He stressed the need of conducting the second Constituent Assembly (CA) election on the announced date to maintain political stability in the country and urged one and all to help the election government create election-friendly atmosphere.



Chief of Central Department of Buddhist Studies Dr Milan Ratna Shakya said Regmi´s works have brought out the spirit of Buddhism and Buddha´s love for peace in a simpler way.



This is Regmi´s seventh solo exhibition.
