Explosion in Janakpur-bound train injures 60 (Updated)

KATHMANDU, May 17: A bomb exploded inside a Janakpur-bound train at Barbaha station, injuring at least 60 people Sunday morning, according to our correspondent Ajit Tiwari. The only railway in Nepal -- Nepal Janakpur-Jayanagar Railways -- which links Nepal to the Indian town of Jayanagar is operating in poor condition.



The injured are undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital. The medics at the hospital said that the condition of the nine of the injured is critical.



Meanwhile, our correspondent Suresh Yadav said that in-charge of Tarai Mukti Sena, Prithvi, has owned up responsibility for the blast.
