KATHMANDU, July 19: A former employee of Tribhuvan University has committed suicide on Thursday. Ram Bahadur Pandey Chhetri, 67, who was charged for his alleged involvement for altering the scores of several candidates who had appeared in the tests conducted to fill vacancies at the university, committed suicide by jumping off from the fifth floor of Tripureshwar based Radha Bhawan, according to the spokesperson of Nepal Police, DSP Hobindra Bogati.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a graft case at the Special Court against 10 officials of the university on July 3 for abusing their positions to appoint the relatives of the university officials to the various posts.
