Ex-PM Deuba sends medical aid to his home district

KATHMANDU, May 16: Former Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba has sent medical supplies to his home district of Dadeldhura.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Former Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba has sent medical supplies to his home district of Dadeldhura. 


The medical supplies were sent in a bid to manage the risk of the increasing coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, according to Deuba’s secretariat.


The medical supplies were handed over to the Chief District Officer and coordinator of the District Disaster Management Committee, Hari Prasad Ghimire.


According to Deuba’s personal secretary Bhanu Deuba, the medical supplies include 15 units of Half-fold bed with mattresses, 15 units of bedlockers, 15 units of Intravenous stands (IV), 100 sets of PPE, 5000 pieces of surgical masks and some necessary medicines. He also stated that the supplies will be distributed by the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (DCCMC) to the health offices accordingly.

According to the chief of the District Coordination Committee, Ganesh Raj Bhatta, the district has received its first supply of medical aid. He also recalled Deuba sending food supplies during the lockdown last year.


Bhatta also stated that efforts were being made for proper management of the Dadeldhura Hospital, the only hospital in the Sudurpaschim Province under the federal government, that still lacks skilled manpower and has not upgraded its oxygen plant.
