Speaking on the occasion, EU Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo commended Nepal’s recent efforts to attract foreign investment despite ongoing challenges. She emphasized the EU’s growing focus on investment, particularly in promising sectors aligned with Nepal’s national priorities, and called for stronger EU-Nepal business cooperation to unlock new opportunities.
During the visit, Nepali stakeholders briefed the delegation on recent reforms, investment priorities, and future policy directions. They encouraged European businesses to take advantage of Nepal’s trade and investment prospects.
To deepen institutional cooperation, FEBI and the European Economic Chamber Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a framework for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and business facilitation between European investors and Nepali enterprises.
The delegation also held targeted consultations with honorary consuls, investment bankers, and business leaders from the energy, aviation, and IT sectors to explore business-to-business partnerships and strengthen commercial ties. A high-level dialogue was organized as part of the mission, involving stakeholders from investment policy think tanks, government ministries, investment agencies, and the private sector.
This mission serves as a precursor to the EU-Nepal Business Forum 2025, scheduled to be held in November this year.
