Envoys urge Upendra Yadav to take part in elections

Kathmandu, June 20: Ambassadors of the UK and Germany and deputy chiefs of missions of the European Union, Denmark and Switzerland based in Kathmandu held a meeting with Chairman of the Madheshi People’s Rights Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav on Thursday and urged his party to take part in forthcoming Constituent Assembly elections. The foreign diplomats met Yadav at his party office at Bal Kumari and urged him not to boycott the elections, saying that the elections are the backbone of  multi-party democracy. “The ambassadors urged the party chairman to take part in the forthcoming CA elections,” said head of the MPRF-N’s International Department, Arjun Thapa talking to Republica Online. “We are committed to take part in the CA elections. However, the major parties should address our key demands including dissolution of the High Level Political Committee,” Thapa said quoting his party chairman as saying during the meeting. The ambassadors from European  countries based in Kathmandu have been urging the disgruntled parties to take part in the forthcoming CA elections.
