NAWALPARASI, Jan 13: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala has urged youths to involve in creative works in own country rather than going abroad while urging the government to bring enterprise intensive program to retain youths.
Inaugurating the second Nawalparasi Youth Conference at Kawaswoti, newly elected House of Representative member Dr Koirala said the country should float the agenda how to mobilize youth energy for the development of the country by stopping them going Gulf countries.
On the occasion, industrialist Binod Chaudhary said the challenge of unemployment is widening in Nepal due to lack of technical and vocational skills in the human resource available in the market.
Annually around 400,000 Nepali youths come to the market but they lack the technical know-how to best utilize their potential, he noted.
Around 100 youths representing different sectors of Nawalparasi district are taking part in the conference.
The organizer hoped that the conference would be helpful to engage youths in building a sustainable prosperous society by making them responsible and accountable.
The conclusions drawn out from the conference would be handed over to the Mayors/Chairpersons and Deputy Mayors/Vice-Chairpersons of local governments of Nawalparasi. RSS
