BHAKTAPUR, May 6: The Bhaktapur Durbar Square based National Art Museum is closed to the public after the engineers pasted red sticker at the museum building, indicating that the building was not safe.

The building was built during the time of the Rana regime and it has developed many big and small cracks on the walls after the April 25 big quake.

--------A team of engineers from the Department of Urban Development visited the museum to assess the damage caused by the devastating earthquake and many aftershocks since then. The team concluded the building was not safe enough for visit.

The engineers declared it unsafe to enter the museum for it has big cracks on its walls in many places.

The team also pasted red stickers on the Police Beat attached to the museum and the Bhaktapur Municipality Office nearby the museum.

However, the 55-window Palace is said to be safe enough for visit. RSS
