End House obstruction: Civil society leaders

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Civil society leaders on Monday asked the agitating UCPN (Maoist) to lift House obstruction to avoid looming ´grave political crisis´ in the country.



Issuing a press statement, various 21 civil society leaders said that the basis of civilian supremacy could only be ensured by drafting democratic constitution on time as per the spirit of Comprehensive Peace Accord and Interim Constitution. They have also asked the Maoist party to lift House obstruction without setting any conditions to find solution to the national problems through the Constituent Assembly.



Those issuing statement include Daman Nath Dhungana, Birendra Prasad Mishra, Charan Prasai, Dr Chandra Lal Shrestha, Arjun Lamichhane, Kapil Shrestha, Rameshwar Upadhyaya and Kedar Nara Singh KC among others.
