Talking to media persons at his office, Nembang expressed worry that there will be extreme time pressure if the House business could not resume even Tuesday, the day House has been called again after the continued Maoist obstruction. “All parties should try to find outlet for the problem from the House itself instead of obstructing its business,” he added.
Nembang said the continued obstruction in the House has not only made them unable to debate burning issues and arrive at conclusion to resolve them but also has made difficult to pass the budget unveiled for the new fiscal year. “The budget if not passed on time will put the nation in crisis economically,” he further said.
Nembang suggested both ruling and opposition parties should take initiatives to end the continued House obstruction. He said that he has already asked all party leaders to settle the issue and create conductive environment to draft new constitution and take the ongoing peace process to a logical end.
Asked if the Constituent Assembly calendar will be amended yet again, Nembang said that he has repeatedly held meetings with the chief whips of all major parties and asked them to help prepare draft of the CA committees´ reports on time. “All political parties must put constitution drafting as priority,” he said.
The CA calendar has already been amended for sixth time so far.
