'Elephant essential part of ecological conservation'

CHITWAN, Aug 13: The stakeholders have stressed the need for protecting elephant reasoning that it helps in conserving ecology.



During a program organized on the occasion of the 14th International Elephant Day in Sauraha on Tuesday, the speakers said ecological conservation was meaningless in absence of protection of elephants.

Senior veterinarian Dr Bijay Kumar Shrestha said all sides concerned could extend support for creating an atmosphere favourable to elephants. "There is a tremendous role elephants can play in wildlife protection," he reminded.
