KATHMANDU, June 22: The electricity supply will be interrupted in several areas of Kathmandu today and tomorrow. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) announced that the electricity service will be disrupted in regions served by the Matatirtha substation from June 22 to June 23.
Power supply interrupted for about 20 minutes
The interruption is due to the need to shut down the substation automation system connected to the new control room of the Matatirtha 220 KV substation, constructed by the Marshyangdi Kathmandu 220 KV project. This shutdown will affect the electricity supply from the Matatirtha substation.
Electricity service will be disrupted in Satungal, Machhegaun, and Pharping areas on Saturday from 10AM to 3PM. The NEA notice also mentions that electricity supply will be affected at different times on Sunday in these areas.
